Remote Web workplace able to connect with some computers in my office but not the one I want

It's been a while since I've used Remote Web Workplace to log in to our office's server (Windows SBS).
Now I have a new laptop and I need to use RWW a lot in the next few months as I'll be on the road.
I can logon to the server fairly reliably and my colleagues PC most of the time, but not my own. The error message is "Connectivity to the remote computer could not be established. Ensure that the remote computer is on and connected to the Windows Small Business Server network."
(When I'm on the server, in file explorer I can go into the Network Neighbourhood and see both workstations)
**UPDATE: Now that I think about it I remember some LAN issues with that workstation, having difficulty connecting to Exchange for example. I had to repair my local copy of Outlook because of that. How to diagnose it though? and it might *not* be related, but I suspect it is...
**FURTHER UPDATE: Windows Update is *not* working on this workstation, which could point at further network issues...
