I haven't tried it but try the steps below from this link.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6547705

1. Locally backup your iPod touch to iTunes.
2. Download and install iBackupBot Ver.5.2.3 for your computer. http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm
3. Open it and find your backup that you just made.
4. Click system files and search "springboard" OR go to "HomeDomain/Library/Preferences/" to find "com.apple.springboard.plist."
5. Open it (click cancel when message comes up) and right under <dict> add this (make sure you tab it like this)
     <key>SBShowBatteryLevel</key>
     <true/>
-This means that the Battery percentage will be added and "true" means this feature will be enabled.
6. Save the file and close it.
7. Open iTunes again and restore using the backup that you edited using iBackupBot.
8. Wait a few minutes and the battery percentage should appear upon boot after completing restoration.

The Users Guide for iPod Touch with iOS 6 says:

Usage
View usage information: Go to Settings > General > Usage. You can:
••
View and delete iCloud backups, turn off backing up the Camera Roll, and buy additional storage
••
View each app’s storage
••
Display battery level as a percentage
••
See the elapsed time since iPod touch has been charged
