Migrate code base and database from IIS 5 to IIS 6 and, from IIS 6 to IIS 7 latest versio

Hello Team,

Can someone please summarize high level steps to migrate IIS from previous versions to latest one? Please see details below

Migrated from one server/database to another involving both code base and database move, IIS 5 to IIS 6 migration and changing settings to allow ASP scripts to run, setting up FTP accounts and server certificates


Besides your thoughts, can you please share with some links, blogs, step-by-step articles with tons of screenshots to perform this migration?

You can use IIS Easy Migration Tool (IEMT) for migrate one server to another server including copy FTP logins, virtual directories, application pools, SSL certificates, Web/FTP folders structure and assign NTFS folders permissions.

I'm not sure about database migration to another server with including code base. Let me check
