Hi

I have installed VLC video player on my Mac by downloading it from VLC's website. The program shows under applications. I wanted to set VLC as default video player so I right click the video file and set VLC as default but when I click Ok to apply the setting, I receive Access Denied Error 5000 message. I am admin on this Mac as there are no other users.

Could you help me with that please?

Regards,
Tom

strung, did the disk utility come with Mac? or do I have to download or buy it? The MAC is about 2 years old.

Disk Utility can be found in /Applications/Utilities or by searching in the Spotlight search engine (the magnifying glass at the top right of the menubar.)

strung, another stupid question: is Disk Utility just an app-software on Mac or is it cd?

It is an app on the Mac hard drive in the folder /Appliations/Utilities.
