Synchronization Problem with Outlook via MAPI
Hello,
Our application synchronizes appointments with Outlook via MAPI. This works fine, if no Exchange server is present. With Exchange server (Version 2010 German) we have sometimes the problem that we get strange error messages. I.e. we call GetItemFromID(EntryId) and an error is thrown like
"Fehler bei diesem Vorgang. Die Messaging-Schnittstellen haben einen unbekannten Fehler zurückgeliefert. Falls das Problem weiter besteht, starten Sie Outlook neu." (English: The operation failed. The messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook.)
or
"Die Anzahl der Elemente, die gleichzeitig geöffnet werden können, wurde vom Serveradministrator begrenzt. Schließen Sie zunächst geöffnete Nachrichten, oder entfernen Sie Anhänge und Bilder von ungesendeten Nachrichten, die Sie gerade verfassen." (English: Your server administrator has limited the number of items you can open simultaneously...")
or
"Ein Clientvorgang ist fehlgeschlagen." (English: A Client Operation failed.)
If this problem arises with a user, it arises again and again and repeatedly. Any solutions?
Second question: Which is nowadays Best Practices for the synchronisation with Outlook. Are there good Third party products, experiences?
