Adding an internal FTP site

This is SBS 2008. We already have an ftp site set up for people to access our server from the outside world.

We've just bought a new CNC Lathe in the factory. We were expecting that it would just connect to our network and be able to log into the file server in the same manner as other machines that we have. However, it turns out that this new machine will only communicate with an ftp server. So I was wondering if SBS/Server2008 will allow us to set up a second ftp site on the internal network?

You can create a virtual directory under Default FTP Site for the ftp user that CNC Lathe uses, link the virtual directory to the directory you want to serve as home directory for CNC Lathe. Note that the Default FTP site should be listening on the internal network as well for this to work.

Also this article might be of help: http://www.iis.net/learn/publish/using-the-ftp-service/configuring-ftp-user-isolation-in-iis-7
