Looking for a good guide to setup of SLES 12 sssd and openldap

I have been fighting with SLES 12 SSSD trying to get it to talk to openldap and having no luck at all.  Does anyone know of a good guide to this setup?

Update:  I am now able to see all the ldap accounts using "getent passwd", but I am still not able to authenticate.  I get "access denied".  If I su- <account name> it will let me get there from root.

Why not use yast and learn config files after?
