Power PIvot add-in for Excel 2010 will not load

I am having issues installing Power Pivot for Excel 2010.

It is listed in the com Apps list but when enabled from here it won't load it.

I have managed to get the following error message:

Customization could not be loaded because the application domain could not be created.

I have already:

Confirmed that the correct version of Excel is installed (32 bit, 14.0.7015.1000)
Reinstalled  the full version .net 4
Reinstalled visual studio tools 2010
made sure that all the office 2010 extras are installed and ran repair to make sure.

Any ideas?

it seems that the registry files are corrupted.

try uninstalling it, then restart the machine and then re install and hopefully it should work.
support01Author Commented:
Thanks, I will give that a go.
support01Author Commented:
I'm afraid that didn't work.

I've tried:

Re-installing the software
Completely removing the software and all registry entries using a combination of Revo Uninstaller andCC cleaner and then installing the software again and the problem still persists.

I've also logged on as a different user on the same machine to see if the issue was profile specific and the problem is still there.

Ok. in this case, then there is a problem with your Office .NET Programmability Support

when you installed the office, you must have installed through customised option not marking the .NET Programmability Support.

to fix this. follow Easy option.

Uninstall PowerPivot.
Restart the machine.
download Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 latest from Microsoft link http://download.microsoft.com/download/B/A/4/BA4A7E71-2906-4B2D-A0E1-80CF16844F5F/dotNetFx45_Full_setup.exe

install it.

then check if you  already have the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime  installed in your machine, if you have then you need to uninstall it. and download install a fresh copy from the link below. or if you do not have it already in your machine you download and install it.
http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/0/0/C001737F-822B-48C2-8F6A-CDE13B4B9E9C/vstor_redist.exe

then download and install powerpivot again
restart the machine and then your powerpivot must work.

if it still does not work, check if antivirus setting in your machine is not blocking the .net framework ability to create the 'shadow copy' version of the vsto .dll.

hope this helps.

let me know how did it go.

I'm afraid that still hasn't worked, have followed all the steps and even disabled the anti-virus on the pc and the issue is still there.

I think we are going to have to replace this machine as I don't have any more to troubleshoot this, thanks for your help.
ProfessorJimJamMicrosoft Excel ExpertCommented:
before you replace the machine.

can you try unstalling the microsoft office and restart and reinstall it and then instlal powerpivot.  if this last step do not work. then do what you may wish to do.
support01Author Commented:
I should have the laptop in front of me on Monday so I'll  try and re-install office before we wipe it.
support01Author Commented:
I have tried reinstalling office and powerpivot and unfortuantely it still won't work.

It's going to be quicker for me to just to wipe the laptop and re-install the software.

Thanks for you help.
