Cannot Copy User in AD - Exchange Shell Command Error

Get-mailbox | Where {$_.AddressListMembership –like “*deleted*” | Update-Recipient
this results in a prompt of >>

this is from this link to correct a GAL error in AD.

What is wrong with the shell command - it just sits at >> and never executes.  Must be some error in syntax.

>> means that the command is missing a closing bracket. It should be like below...

Get-mailbox | Where {$_.AddressListMembership –like “*deleted*” }| Update-Recipient
