Install WS_FTP 12.4 using WS_FTP 12.2 ws_ftp.ini

Will this work with Windows 8.1:

>> Download WS_FTP 12.4

>> Rename .../sites/ws_ftp.ini to .../sites/ws_ftp_122.ini

>> copy ws_ftp.ini [12.2] from backup to .../sites/ws_ftp.ini [12.4]

That, is replace ws_ftp.ini from 12.4 installation with ws_ftp.ini from 12.2 installation.

I need to do this to recover connections from backup 12.2 ws_ftp.ini - missing from current WS_FTP 12.2 installation.

Alternatively, can I copy connections text lines (e.g. [Lee Academy - GoDaddy]...[wgrheapubliclibrary] (17 connection data sets) from current WS_FTP 12.2 ws_ftp.ini to WS_FTP 12.4 ws_ftp.ini

You do not need to rename the ws_ftp.ini to use with a newer version of WS_FTP. I just save the file in a safe place, install the new version of WS_FTP and copy the .ini file to the correct location.

My file is here:  C:\ProgramData\Ipswitch\WS_FTP\Sites and it is the same file I use with WS_FTP V6 and all versions up to V12.4.

So long as you have a good file, it will work.
