Room Mailbox convert

Hello Team,

Can you please help. How we can convert the room mailbox to Mail contact.

Issue is in sharepoint document library, the room mailbox doesnt recieve a meeting request. This generally recieve when we have a Contact.

Could you please tell how to convert the room to Mail- Contact

Unfortunately you can't since when you create a room mailbox it creates a disabled 'user object' in AD and mail contact is a contact object. This is just not a mailbox conversion but it also has underlying AD object which is a AD change and out of Exchange scope.

So your best option is to delete the room mailbox and create a mail contact if you are going to use the same email address.

You can only convert mailbox between Regular, Room, Shared, Equipment type.

First of all, why is the room mailbox not working? Let's concentrate on fixing the problem instead of working around it. Please let me know what your settings on your room mailbox are in Exchange. I'll need info from the following tabs (post screenshots if you have them, as they will likely be much more helpful):

- Resource Out-of-Policy Requests
- Resource In-Policy Requests
- Resource General
- Resource Policy
-Resource Information

WIth this info, I'm fairly confident we can get you where we need to be. If you'd like to walk through just creating a new room mailbox, we can do that as well. Just let me know. :)

Hello,

I converted it to shared mailbox. i converted this because other correct mailbox which is used in document control of sharepoint is working as a shared mailbox.

Issue : Mail from external not recieved

Another thing what i noticed, whenever we create any mailbox in Exchange, the Corrospond Mail-user contact get created in O365. But for this Mail contact is not there.

instead of this, i have seen ,, in shared mailbox. there is same mailbox is created. I think there is conflict of it

Let us knw, how to sort it out. Which one need to delete, and which one not ?

This has been Resolved,

Problem was. Mail user Contact not replicated in cloud.

Actually mails are Landed on Cloud. So not Having Mail user contact of On premises account was causing the issue. After DIR SYNc runs and make the mail contact available on Cloud for the mailbox which is on Premises.

Resolved this issue.
