I am trying to write an email notifier which will need to check Hotmail, gmail etc. and report the total emails waiting to be read I don't need to download them just need to know what is waiting.

I am using vb2010 and have tried componentace's solution but I am getting limited response especially with Hotmail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Am looking at limilabs now thanks.

Just to add, would it be possible to get the mailcount from a folder rom outlook without using 3rd party tools?

Thanks again

I don't use Outlook to read emails. I use limilabs. The main reason is that my applications using emails are running from a server on which Outlook is not installed
