So, let me get this straight, you have forgotten the SSO password ?

You state -
We can log onto the vcenter server ?
using which account ?

If you have Forgotten the administrator@vsphere.local password, there is no method to recover it.

You will need to re-install vCenter Server.

The SSO password is hashed and encrypted and stored in the SQL database, the only method I know of, is to complete a new temp installation of vCenter Server, enter a SSO password, remember it, and then cut and paste that HASH from the Temp SQL vCenter DB, into the current database!

You could also try this method...
