Need a script to DISABLE litigation hold that has been put on Exchange 2010 users

We have thousands of users placed on litigation hold and I need a solution ASAP to remove them all from Litigation hold rather than go through 10,000 users one by one. A bonus to this would be the option to enable purge of those help items. I am currently using journaling with CommVault and have absorbed the old pst files into CommVault. Thanks!!!!

If you need to remove litigation hold ASAP just run this command in the Exchange Management Shell:
Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited | Set-Mailbox -LitigationHoldEnabled $false

Deleted items should get purged automatically once you've removed the Litigation Hold but let me get back to you on that.

Thanks! Yeah that should work but I am not sure on the automatic purge. We may have a retention in place for 14 days....

Yep seems they get purged by the mailbox assistant once you remove the Litigation Hold. See the last line in this article: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee861123(v=exchg.141).aspx
