I am trying to ssh from the core switch to the access switch and it did not work, The username that was on my access switch has been deleted. I added a new user. When I ssh, I did not get a login prompt, just the password. I input the password for the new user and it denied. I looked in the log on my access switch and I saw that the ssh user ID is associated with the deleted one, How do I get the login prompt for ssh? Thanks

PS. I can ssh to my access switch using Putty without any problem.

try instead of ssh to ip, do username@ip for example username@10.0.0.1
