cable for samsung

I need a cable/adapter for a samsung galaxy s5 that I can use to connect to a projector.  The projector has hdmi ports and vga.  I would like to use VGA to see if it works but I can use hdmi if that is easier and better.  The plug on the back of the phone is a longer connector that I am used to seeing.  Is it micro usb 3.0?  It is not as small as some micro usb I have seen.  Maybe I am not understanding what I have seen.

the S5 has a microusb on it, and some other proprietary port next to it.  The charger uses both ports, but you CAN still use microUSB cable in the correct shaped port

What is that connector end called?  I see it on some usb hard drives I have that are usb 3.0  Is there a name for it other than micro usb if it has the 2 plugs on it?
from what I understand, the galaxy S5's port is a microUSB 3.0 connector, which has backward compatibility with 2.0.

Wikipedia USB 3.0 Micro-B plug

I was mistaken about this being "proprietary."
