Geting Access to files

I have a laptop that was running Windows XP, the laptop has died but the drive is still readable. The problem is I can’t access the files because the profile was password protected and it won’t give me access to the files. I have a program called GetSystemAccess that would work but it doesn’t let you run the program from Windows 7 only XP and the PC that I have the drive connected to is windows 7 machine.
Do you know if there is another program I can use that might let me access the files on the hard drive?

Thanks

If you connect windows  C: disk to other computer it just appears as a new drive.
GetSystemAccess.exe is usual name for Artemis trojan software.

You can even boot a Linux live DVD - Linux can read ntfs file system and doesn't care about Win XP permissions. As per http:#a40581264, I am assuming the password has not been used to encrypt the files. I would suggest Knoppix
Windows PE might also do the job - I don't have the URL handy but it's in the Microsoft domain - Google should find it for you.
