How to copy the User List from one website to another.

I'm upgrading a website fom Joomla 1.5 to 3.x  This means rebuilding it by manually copying or creating the menus and articles.

I have hundreds of registerd users on my User List.  Is it possible to copy the list from the old website to the new?  To re-enter them all again would be a pain.  But worse, I don't know their passwords.

Thank you iin advance.

Can you export the old site to the new site and then to an in-place upgrade?

This documentation shows you how to migrate a site:

https://docs.joomla.org/Copying_a_Joomla_website

Here's another link that might be useful:

https://docs.joomla.org/Joomla_1.5_to_3.x_Step_by_Step_Migration

The second one is probably more specific to your needs.

Thanks for the links.  Very informative.  However, I have completely rebuilt the website without migraton tools.  Now all I need is to get the users from the 1.5 site into the 3.x site

Maybe this resource will help you migrate the appropriate table(s).  You'll probably need to use MySQL export and import, to migrate the appropriate tables:

It looks like the jos_users table is the one you want to copy.
