Access Database being updated by Excel Spreadsheet

How can I run an append and an update at the same time. I have an access data base that I run an update query on and it will up date the fields that I want from an excel spreadsheet, but I do not seeing it adding new records, but it might be because I have it linked by a field and if it does not find a link it will not add/update the file with the new records.  Attached are my sample files.  I have one record waiting to be updated from the excel file and a record that is in the excel file but not in the access database.

I will do a part 2 to this so I can add the other file.  As it only allows me to upload 1 file.
