Hello Experts,

We are working on getting into the E-Rate market for school districts.  We have some bids prepared for a few small districts to test the waters but the issue that I'm running into is that I don't know what to charge for cabling and for basic Maintenance.  Can anyone give me an idea on what to charge for this, is the maint. per hour, contract, set number of hours per month, left up to the vendor or...?  I have filed open records request with all the districts we are working with but they are dragging their feet real bad.

Thanks in advance for any help

I do see a discussion about some of the rules. Service providers are not able to charge schools more than the lowest corresponding price. So schools can not be charged more than other non-residential customers.

If you might be interested I could post a long article about what the "school district" should be taking into account before entering into an agreement. That would tell you what to be prepared for. It gives you the "look" from the other side. An example are periodic audits to make sure the rules are being followed.

So audits would be something for you to consider as far as pricing, contracts, etc.
