Wordpress: Image cannot be loaded

I'm running Wordpress 4.1 in Windows Server 2012.  I've created a post with a gallery of images.  The images were uploaded to the img folder under the root folder for the web site.  When I view the post, I can see the gallery of images, but when I click on an image, I get "The Image could not be loaded".  So I don't get the full size image in a slideshow.  I'm using the DIVI theme. I understand this has something to do with Windows permissions, but have no idea how to fix it.

Not the solutin, but what happens if you add this option to your gallery shortcode (you must change from visual to text in your Edit Screen to do this):
link="file"

Open in new window

By default WP Galery shortcode link to the attachment page,
link="file" force it to link directly to the attachment file/image.

I tried that, but it didn't work.

I kept experimenting and found if I added IUSR, IIS_IUSERS, NETWORK SERVICE to the Site Permissions in the IIS Management window with their default permissions, which include read & execute, the problem resolved itself.
