Hi Experts,

My storage is a HP MSA2200.
One Raidset is for SQL DBs with SAS disks.
Now I have some SATA disks left.
The Raid Level is 5.

Can I just add the SATA disks to the RAID5 with SAS disks ?

Is it possible to change the RAID from 5 to 10 ?

you can't mix different drive types in the same array
you can create a new array with the sata disks but can't put sas and sata together the way you want

OK, but I have heard from newer systems you can mix sata and sas.
Does this belong just to new arrays ?

you can mix on the same controller but they can't be part of the same array
1 array of all sas; 1 array of all sata
