In our recent audit they found FTP was enabled on some of our printers and stated we need to either turn it off or password protect it. I have ran the ftp-config:0 via telnet I have also disabled FTP printing via telnet but the printer is still publishing a FTP site on our network. Is there a way I can disable or password protect the FTP site its publishing?

If you do not need to be able to telnet it the device, log in the web ui, go networking -> Mgmt.Protocols and select the other tab.

under enable management protocols, uncheck Enable Telnet

I dont think I was very clear with the issue. When I FTP://x.x.x.x using IE to this printer (and many others) it opens a default FTP site that the printer is publishing. I need to disable that from coming up or password protect it.

Thanks
