joomla 2.5.28 how to disable mail icons and mailer component

I have joomla in my site, is full of holes, one of which is using mail icons and massive mail for spam.  I want to disable all the functionality of mail.

Here's what I would do.

1) Go to Control Panel -> Site -> Global Configuration -> Server (section) -> Remove all email settings set and save.
2) Go to Content -> Article Manager -> Options -> Change "Show Email Icon" to "Hide"

Please let me know if there are more areas in your website that are still able to access the email.  For example, if you have a contact page form.  You will need to disable the contact page and/or remove the form.

Thanks,

 the icons go away.

Looking at the home page, I see some other fields and links, that I want to take off.

Login button,   User and password fields,   and Forget user and  password? links

Will be convenient that when a spammer tries to use the link  http://MYSITE.COM/component/mailto/?tmpl=component&link=1,
a Forbidden Error shows or better would be totally disable the mailto component
