Getting a misleading error using Google Script

This code does basically what I want, copy and rename a sheet to the current date.  I found it and am trying to customize it to give me todays date.  I'm getting an error that I think is misleading, but I do not know what the real problem is

Im getting the error
Missing ; before statement
The line being pointed to  is  Date today = new Date();
You can see the full script in the attachment, I don't see what the problem is, but then this is the 1st time using Google script/Java

Any help will be appreciated
