We have a primary exchange account called xyz.com.  we purchased a company called xyz2.com.   We would like to setup company xyz2.com using our existing exchange server.   Some users will receive email from both company’s but want their main address to be company xyz2.com.

You need to have your MX and Reverse DNS setup externally. When this is completed you need to do the following...

Create Accepted Domain
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124911%28v=exchg.141%29.aspx

Create Email Address Policy
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125155%28v=exchg.141%29.aspx

You will also need to identify the users based on an attribute/group or OU. Then when you create new users and add them to a specific group/ou/attribute on their AD account they will automatically inherit the email address based on the policy.

The new domain should be 1st priority and default email address policy should be last.

Will.
