We were thinking of buying a Dell PowerVault MD3800f. The problem is dell wants like $675 for each drive with "their" firmware on them. Is it possible to buy our own SAS drives and use them instead of the the dell drives? And if so can we upgrade the firmware on our own drives to the dell firmware?
Thanks
