Exchange Logs Not Truncating

Hi All we have Exchange Server 2013 Running on Server 2012 in a Hyper V Environment

I have tried to Backup using Active Image Protector which is Exchange Aware, and have also tried Using Windows server backup.

When using the Windows Backup the Job Completes but does say

Backup succeeded but some components backed up were inconsistent in the snapshot. The application this component belongs to might not function properly after this backup is used for recovery.

any thoughts

I also have the following in event Viewer

VSS 8230  Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Failed resolving account spsearch with status 1376. Check connection to domain controller and VssAccessControl registry key.

Try installing this hotfix from Microsoft then reboot the server: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2996928/

SPSearch sounds SharePoint related to me. Is SharePoint on the same box?

Looking at your screenshot, is this in a DAG? If so, can you confirm that the DAG is healthy and replicating changes between copies?

You may also be getting errors like this if the database has corruption in it.

If just realised that I do not have the latest cumulative update on the server I only have SP1, the latest CU is 7 shall I just install that?

The server is not in a DAG

Just reboot the server and try to take backup again. If still not working, enable circular logging restart Exchange services, then disable it again. Now take backup. If still not working, create new db and move mailboxes to new db and finally remove old db, create fresh again and use it.

Before installing patch you can try my suggestion or just create one new db and take a backup. Check if that works or not. If still same issue, I might open MS case.

Is installing this likely to cause other issues?, I just thought it was always best practice to have latest patches etc

Installing patches is always good, but I don't see CU7 says any fix related to log issue.
