I googled and read several articles on the topic but could not find a comprehensive answer.

My question is for those who are doing a project using JQM and their experience.

If the answer is no then why not use the bootstrap?

I also read the following,

Bootstrap or jquery mobile... same *bucket* different smell.  Both have the grid system as well as a javascript framework for form components / widgets etc.

Both rely on the jQuery framework so it really comes down to the components / widgets and other visuals they offer.

Have you had a look at both?  What does you site need?

Both are responsive.  It's just about choosing one over the other and going with it.  I personally use bootstrap but if the situation fitted it, I would use jquery mobile or another framework.

My personal experience is that bootstrap is heavy on the templating and laying out of your content, whilst jQuery mobile has more pre-defined widgets that you can plug and play and may not have the full extent of templating options that is offered by bootstrap.  Jquery Mobile would most likely win it for me if your site is to be more or less a mobile app.

Without complicating things, you can save a url as an icon on your phone/tablet so that when you click it, a browser opens the corresponding url.

On the otherhand you can convert your html site to a full blown app using phonegap for both Apple / Android devices.

How will the end user interface with your site? Depending on the purpose of what you're using jQuery mobile for makes a huge difference.
