Is Cloud Foundry basically an expansion of the old vFabric

Is the vFabric brand obsolete, is it replaced by CF,  Is RabbitMQ still a part of it ?

Thanks

Yes in a way - Cloud Foundry is about expanding a PaaS engine across multiple clouds, frameworks and application services. It  consumes and makes vFabric easier to deploy to your applications.

vFabric 5 is a platform for on-premises, production enterprise application development using the Spring framework. Cloud Foundry platform, can go beyond delivering various application development frameworks like Spring, Rails or Node.js to individual developers

RabbitMQ is the messaging used in Cloud Foundary, to be more specific the commercial entity Pivotal CF. For details in Cloud Foundary services, see the wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_Foundry#Services

For vFabric, it has reached End of Availability (EOA) of the VMware vFabric® Suite, it move into Vmware's spin off - Pivotal  unmbrella. The latter will primed all of VMware's application- and developer-oriented products, including Spring, tc Server, Cloud Foundry, RabbitMQ, GemFire, and SQLFire.
