Dear All

As we know, CPE is Customer-premises equipment. But in MPLS, I also see CE router. Is CE the same thing with CPE ? Thanks

One of those "depends on who you're talking to" situations.

CE could be Customer Edge or some use it as simply Customer Equipment.  In most scenarios (at least in the MPLS arena) the two terms are synonymous.

Thank you for your fast reply.  I think you are right

Usually CE router is connected to PE router where there are a lot MPLS configuration. Do you think the PE router is also located at custom site in many situations ?

The PE router could be located at the customer's site. It depends on the provider and the situation. Most of the times (in my experience) the PE router is at the provider location.
