jegajothy  do you have the Ultimate version or the very best in version 16?
I gave up on Pinnacle and went with Cyberlink Power Director 10 ultra x 64 so can no longer show you.
To capture a live web cam is only possible if it is playing on the desktop and basically you capture your desktop..
You can use the import feature to capture from a device that has already been recorded as well. See guide below:
Different versions have different features and usually the ultimate versions have those extras,
For desktop  screen capture
Look in your program files folder Pinnacle.
Do you see the Dazzle Video capture DVC 100 driver in your program files x 32  folder for Pinnacle?
Below there should also be Live Screen capture folder open that
In there is the VSSCap application run that, create a shortcut to it on desktop.
But use that to capture your desktop, anything playing on your desktop including the web cam will recorded into a video.
If it helps see this video on youtube
How to Screen Capturing / Tutorial Pinnacle Studio 17

see The Pinnacle Guide chapter 10 importing click on any of the topics of interest  importing has two options one being capturing.

To create a DVD you must first capture the video to use all the editing features and create a final product.
The "capture" tab will be on the far left, click on it.
Click on the 'Capture' Tab
Now in the lower right click on "settings" and  then click the "capture format" tab to decide whether you want to capture the video at DV or MPEG quality.
DV will capture at the best quality and use up the most disc space, MPEG will still capture at a good quality and will use less disc space.
Step 3 - Choose the Source
In the same pop up box click on the "capture source" tab where you will choose a source for both your video and audio files, they can come from the same source. To choose the source click on the drop down box and find the device from where the video and audio are coming, if they come from the same source simply click the same source from the drop down menu. After you have made your selections click "OK" and then click on the "capture video" to start the download. The video will take the same amount of time to capture as it took to film, so if the video is thirty minutes long it will take thirty minutes to fully capture the video.
