Hi,
Is there someone who tried the exontrol Grid component in any of desktop application?
I just want to know how this control is appreciated (rated), before I pick  it as my grid replacement in dbase Plus.

I have used Exontrol Grid together with Delphi years ago and was very pleased with it.
As far as I remember, you can even use the grid as a tree.

But why not testing it yourself?
It is free of charge if you don't use it commercially and therefore you can try it out as long as you want...

Please, Tommy.
If you're using MySQL along with exontrol grid, can you tell me if you faced bookmark error message.

My database is Oracle and I didn't use bookmarks together with exontrol.
But maybe I can help you, if you could tell me the complete error message?

That's sounds great
This is the error message
Error:  OLE Dispatch Exception:  Current Recordset does not support bookmarks. This may be a limitation of the provider or of the selected cursortype.

This is my code
local oGrid, rs

            cStmt="Select * from compte"
            cString = "Provider=MSDASQL.1; Driver={MySQL ODBC 5.3 Driver}; User=root;Password=finger4;Data Source=FingerFinanceA10; Database=fingerfinance; option=3"
            rs = new oleautoclient("ador.recordset")
            rs.open(cStmt, cString,2,1)
            rs.bookmark = true

            oGrid = form.activex1.nativeObject
            oGrid.ColumnAutoResize = false
            oGrid.ContinueColumnScroll = false
            oGrid.datasource = rs

It's not an exontrol Problem.

Problem depends on your provider and/or your used cursortype.
CursorTypes, LockTypes, and CursorLocations

Which cursortype are you using?

I used the openStatic one (#3).
What can't be the right combination here.

Try cursor type adOpenDynamic (#2).

A dynamic cursor allows all types of movements in your recordset.
Bookmarks are also allowed, but only if the provider supports them.

So, if adOpenDynamic doesn't work, you should think of using a different provider...

Hi Thommy,
I tried number of combinations without success. I wonder which one is the right provider.
The driver I am using is the recent one MySQL ODBC 5.3.4 Ansi Driver. It is mentioned that it supports bookmarks.
