ipad 16gb just stopped working
ipad just stopped working. No warning. Won't turn on. I went to open the screen and slide like I normally do but there is no power. plugged in unplugged. nothing. Is there a reset hole or something?

Did you try to charge it for a while (up to 20 minutes) before turning it on?
There is a reset sequence that will allow you to boot into DFU mode. This procedure is normally performed for restoring/factory resetting the iOS. Also, many do this as a step in jailbreaking their iDevice.
Hold down the sleep/power button and home button together for exactly 10 seconds, then release the power button
Continue to hold down the Home button until a message appears in iTunes telling you an iPhone in recover mode has been detected.
When you are in DFU mode your iPhone screen will be completely black

holding down the sleep button did nothing.
home and sleep gives me the itunes symbol and a picture of the power cord

I re did it by holding both the sleep and home but this time I didn't keep holding the home button for itunes. I just let it go and it came back.
