"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It depends on the requirements for your site.  Do you have a database you also have to transfer?  Does you Godaddy hosting support any .NET frameworks you require?

Just a basic website. No apps or .net or anything

Then you should be able to just FTP the contents to your hosting.  That's the way I always upload files.  I don't use .NET either.  There are some limits on ASP and ASP.NET on most commercial hosting to prevent users from getting to the file system and other peoples files.

If your pages are all plain HTML, then that's all you have to do.  Some sites don't set permissions correctly when you FTP so you can check that if your site doesn't come up immediately but I've never had that problem with Godaddy.  What do you see in your browser when you go to the new site right now?
