Here's the offical wiki for Ubuntu (easy and very well written):

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation

After that you install Oracle using this step by step tutorial:

http://tutorialforlinux.com/2014/10/01/how-to-install-oracle-12c-database-for-ubuntu-14-04-trusty-lts-64bit-linux-easy-guide/

Happy hacking :)

Why Ubuntu? Oracle has it's own OS which is based on RedHat, it would make far more sense to use that as the OS. Besides, ubuntu is very resource hungry and slow, and it's Unity Desktop is terrible to use, RedHat (and it's Oracle Clone) is much easier on the resources.

Oracle as far as I know also has ready-made VM's of it's OS for VirtualBox and maybe even VMware, you'd just have to download and install VirtualBox on your PC, then import the Oracle OS as a VM into it. VirtualBox is free, and I'm sure you can use the OS for free for a trial period.

@rindi: I totally agree with you in virtually every point ;-) And yes, for quick/fast evaluation of Oracle DB, you really should use these VM templates: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/community/developer-vm/index.html
(or the ones you find in Oracle's E-Delivery / MOS)... Even if you'd decide to install Oracle Linux with Oracle DB on your own for testing purposes, it's a peace of cake, self-running, no rocket science at all...
BUT, if you are curious to get the DB running on e.g. Ubuntu or whatever Linux distribution, why not?! I have successfully installed Oracle 12c on my Linux Mint 17.1 Mate (for private use & eval)...

As I don't use Oracle, I don't know which one(s) you will want. Besides that, you say your OS is 32 bit? What CPU do you have? Current Oracle Linux versions only seems to be available as 64 bit versions. If you want to run a 64bit guest under a 32bit Host OS, your CPU still needs to be 64bit, and it will have to have hardware Virtualization available. Modern CPU's usually have those features, but older ones don't.
