Autodiscover not working on mobile devices

Hi Guys,

Just a quick one,  we got an exchange 2010 cas array and the Autodiscover works very well with outlook anywhere.
However,  it doesn't work on mobile devices ( android, iphone, etc ), for that reason the users have to manually enter the server name and domain info, which is not ideal.

Obviously I am missing something here but not sure what is it, can you guys help ?

Regards

To be honest, the behaviour you are seeing is what I expect. I think I have only seen Autodiscover work a handful of times with mobile devices.
It is down to the implementation of ActiveSync by the vendors. The Apple one is particularly poor and the various Android implementations are very hit and miss. I think every deployment I have ever done has required manual inputting of information, unless an MDM is used (even then the Android ones still require manual intervention).

If you run http://exrca.com using the autodiscover settings does this work externally? You either need to have your autodiscover in your SAN names certificate and also creating an external cname record pointing to your mail.domain.com. If you do not have this you will need to create an autodiscover SRV record on your external DNS.
