How to run a quartz scheduler java program in the background ?

I have a quartz scheduler java program.
I want to run the program in the background in Red Hat Linux 5.5.  How do I run ?

Also will I able to get its process id ?

To run a program in the background, append " &" to your command.
Then use "jobs -l" to get the process id.
> myprogram &
> jobs -l
[1]+ 1540 Running       myprogram &
