git - Getting-Help

The text below from: http://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Getting-Started-Getting-Help
at the very end has... and you need in-person help, you can try the #git or #github channel on the Freenode IRC server (irc.freenode.net).

Could you please tell me how I can access to this site or channel to get git related hep when I need?

Getting Help
If you ever need help while using Git, there are three ways to get the manual page (manpage) help for any of the Git commands:

$ git help <verb>
$ git <verb> --help
$ man git-<verb>
For example, you can get the manpage help for the config command by running

$ git help config
These commands are nice because you can access them anywhere, even offline. If the manpages and this book aren’t enough and you need in-person help, you can try the #git or #github channel on the Freenode IRC server (irc.freenode.net). These channels are regularly filled with hundreds of people who are all very knowledgeable about Git and are often willing to help.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

IRC is similar to chat.

You'll need an IRC program, such as HydraIRC or the Firefox addon ChatZilla.

To use ChatZilla:
1. Install the add-on in Firefox
2. Start ChatZilla by selecting Window / ChatZilla or Tools / ChatZilla
3. click the freenode link
4. Join the chat by typing in the text field at the bottom of the window: /join #git
5. type in the text field to start chatting

When the ChatZilla window is active, it has menus to use it easily, rather than typing commands like /join.
