Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 comparison when connecting to Exchange 2010 ?

People,

Does anyone here know what is the difference between Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 when conencting to the Exchange Server 2010 ?

Because in some way after I have moved the Exchange Server mailbox VM (running on VMware using vMotion, those users with Outlook 2010 are all disconnected while the Outlook 2013 users remains connected.

There are several new features for 2013 but they have also removed some of the features that were in 2010.
The suggested contacts feature is no longer available. This incompatibility maybe the cause of the 2010 users being kicked out. Updating to 2013 could solve this problem.

ok, what about the connection to the Exchange Server 2010 ?

are they both still using thesame RPC over HTTP or MAPI over HTTP ?

Hi

I believe Outlook 2010 will achieve a tcp/ip connection to its mailbox and unless the network is interrupted will not update autodiscover until its usual 6 hour interval, causing an RPC reset and re-auth (password prompt). Where Outlook 2013 is more intelligent on how it handles the reconnect via the CAS proxy.

Yes please.
I'd love to know it so I can justify my company to use Office 2013 from the existing Office 2010 :-)
