Exchange 2003 mailbox store fails to mount - error c1041739

My mailbox store is unmounted and fails to remount with the error "the database files in this store are corrupt.  ID no. c1041739 Exchange System Manager"

Run eseutil /mh and check the status of the database.
If it is in dirty shutdown then you have to repair the databae by running esetuil /p
Check if there is any ESE event for the database corruption. If the database is corrupted then take a backup and repair the database followed by the defrag.

After issuing the command
ESEUTIL /r e00 /L"C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\" /d"D:\Exchsrvr\mdbdata" /i

I get "Operation terminated with error -1022 (JET_errDiskIO, Disk IO error)"

I've got last night's Backup Exec backup of Microsoft Information Store. Should I just restore that I wonder?
