Webmatrix, asp.net - Get textarea content into vbhtml variable

Hi Experts
I have a  textarea in HTML and a submit button that sends an email through the vbhtml code
Please can someone explain how to get the content  of the textarea into a VB variable that I can send in the email
Possibly with an example?
Many Thanks

Can you not just get it from the request on the server and process it?

I was having difficulty submitting the textarea value to the server and retrieving it and as the mail code was already in the VB code section, I felt this would be easier.  Can find no examples of how to do it though
Is the textarea not in a form?  It should be simple to access form elements when the request is sent.  The entered values are part of the request.  I think I will need a link to the page to see what you are doing, because it should not be hard to do normally.

Thanks.  Yes it is.  I tried sending the data via the url, but this failed because of page breaks in the text from the text area.  I then thought of session variables but could not find an example of transferring the text in to a session variable.
