"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I suspect you have a virus or malware on the PC.  Have you scanned?

Akamai (note spelling) is a well-known and legitimate web business.
"Akamai® is the leading provider of cloud services for helping enterprises provide secure, high-performing user experiences on any device, anywhere. "

The DNS address you have given is not a legitimate site.

There are some references on Google for Akaimai, but they do not look too savory.

Are you on a Mac or a PC? Apple uses Akaimai for software updates.  The IP address you show is registered to TeliaNet Global Network in Sweden.

My program shows it as being in Cambridge MA in the US.  Akamai is a CDN (Content Delivery Network) used by many large sites to deliver static content.  It relieves their servers of a lot of traffic.  It is a distributed network and is set up so you get your data from the one that is physically closest to you.

I feel http:#a40637408 deserves some credit.  You misspelled Akamai and I provided info on both Akamai (legitimate business) and Akaimai (questionable business).
Your question was about Akaimai and I provided info.
