Joseph Salazar
Joseph Salazar asked
Have a bookkeepers office where everyone uses any computer.

All Computers are home premium 64-bit

one of the users wishes to Lock a folder on the desktop so that others cannot access
unless they put in a password.

NOTE: Owner does not want to create user logins and passwords she only wants
everyone to get on the computer and work.

Is there a 3rd party software that will allow me to do this?

LocK-A-FoLdeR™ allows you to hide and lock up any folders on your computer, making them invisible and inaccessible to anyone but yourself. After you create a master password, simply select the folder(s) you want to hide and click a button to make them disappear. To unlock a folder, enter your password and select the folder that you want to unlock

you can also use DESlock+ personal edition, which is free for personal use.
It allows you to create crypto folder or even crypto drive, to protect you files. Does this with email, removable media and so on.

Or Truecrypt. Even though it has been discontinued, it still works and is quite secure for an office environment. Make sure to use version 7.1a.
