"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Again - this sounds like corruption in the file. If you're experiencing that, then the only fix is to repair the corruption. This can often be done with Compact/Repair, but sometimes it takes other methods.

If you're downloading these files, then you might consider contacting the person who is creating those files, and have them make sure the files are not corrupt before uploading them.

That would indicate you have problems with the machine where you're having troubles.

Make sure Office/Access and Windows are fully up to date. Reboot.

If that doesn't fix the issue, try a Repair installation of Office. Reboot.

If that doesn't fix the issue, try an uninstall/reinstall of Office. Be sure to completely remove Office first. Reboot.

If that doesn't fix the issue, then you may be stuck with a reinstall of Windows.
