Why would anybody want to do a redhat 5/6/7 kickstart in a 100% vmware environment ?

Why would anybody want to do a  redhat 5/6/7 kickstart in a 100% vmware environment ?

This is not a statement.  Management wants setup kickstart for our small all linux all vmware shop and before I suggest just using vmware clones in this environment, I need other people's in site on this.  I usually make a "gold image " that is a minimal basic system to be cloned.

Any idea what I would loose / miss  suggesting a "kickstart free environment".

Cloning of Linux machines virtual or physical on any platform can have issues with the network interface and Mac address this is a documented faultvin manyvlinux distros.

However I've seen mixed companies use templates or scripts to deploy Windows and Linux VMs you can control and do more with scripted builds BUT development timevisvmore costly.
