Mail merge – A4 paper with 2 A5 pages per A4 Page

Say, I am using Word 2013 to Mail merge a document which needs to be printed in A5 size. I only have A4 paper available and wish to cut it in half after printing. How can I mail merge 2 consecutive A5 sized documents per A4 page?  Thank you

Try printing as two side-by-side labels on to A4 landscape format. I don't know if there is a pre-defined label like that, but If there isn't, it is always possible to design one.

Say, how would one design a label and what what would the dimensions be - I've struggled with custom labels in the past.
Avery does a label (J8168) of the right dimensions, but it is treated as portrait in the labels settings. Here is a dialogue showing the settings for a horizontal version. I swapped over all the horizontal and verticalCustom label dialogue..

Or you could set the page to landscape and then split into two columns. I believe you can set the gap between the two columns. I assume you would set it as twice the left/right margin so that you end up with the same spacing down each side of your A5 pages after slicing.

The first mergefield entry on the second column would be the <<NextRecord>> field.
