What am I doing wrong with this query?

Here's my code:

$q2 = "select distinct(ENODEB) as enb , carrier from awsoffload where MARKET = '" . $mkt . "' and CARRIER <> '1' ";
//echo $q2  . "\n";
$select_query_3=$con->query($q2) ;
		echo mysqli_error($con);

$row2 = mysqli_fetch_assoc($select_query_3);

Open in new window

When I echo out the query itself and run it in phpMyAdmin, I get data. So there is information being retrieved. Still, I get this error:

Warning: mysqli_fetch_assoc() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli_result, null given in /var/www/html/sasite/weekly_reports/procedures/aws_offload_proc2.php on line 107

Line 107 is this:  while ($row2 = mysqli_fetch_assoc($r2));

What is flawed in my code that's resulting in this error?
