Active Directory integrated DNS testing and verification methods

What is the command or the best way to verify if the AD integrated DNS is fully functioning in my newly elected DC/GC (Win2012R2) before I change the static primary DNS on my exchange server and the workstations ?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

is the 2012 server a part of the current domain or a server on a totally separate domain.

how have you gone on adding the second server on the domain if it is on the same domain.

also, have you moved fsmo roles over ?

Current single domain forest.

no, this is the one and only AD domain controller / GC in the AD Site Head Office. THe other DC is in Data_Center AD Site )2x DC/GC and DNS servers for all of my servers)

No, the FSMO servers hasn't been migrated yet to the new server. Should I move it first or not yet ?

You can use the following command to test DNS on a specific server.

DCDiag /s:<dc fqdn> /dnsall

This will test DNS for the specific server you enter.

Will.
