MS server 2012 r2 foundation intermittently dropping network connection.

I just installed a new 2012 server in a small office 5 users, throughout the day the computers become disconnected from the shared drive and have to restart to reconnect, the server is running dhcp and DNS. While troubshooting the issue the RDP session drops and I have to make several attempts to reconnect and during that time the clients have no shared drive access. I have changed the power options as well as set all lan cards to not allow them to be turn off.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

ever tried to continually PING the 2012 server from a host on the same subnet then from another subnet while observing the intermittent issue?

what's the MTU setting of the server? also and the nearest router?

Thanks for your replies, it was a Cisco Valet that was inadvertently plugged into to the wrong port that was causing the issue.
